Leadership and business coaching

Running a growing business is not a solo sport. The best owners I've worked with aren't the ones who figured it all out alone. They're the ones who had someone in their corner, helping them see clearly when things got complicated and holding them to what they said they'd do.

The coaching year in four phases: Foundation in months 1 to 3, Strategy in months 4 to 6, Execution in months 7 to 9, and Optimize from month 10 on, then the cycle repeats. FoundationMonths 1–3 StrategyMonths 4–6 ExecutionMonths 7–9 OptimizeMonth 10 on Youryear
A year of coaching, built in four phases. Then we plan the next one.

Who it's for

For owners, and the leaders they rely on

Coaching is private, one-on-one time focused on the decisions and conversations in front of you right now. It's grounded in your real business, not a generic program.

Owners and founders

You've built something real, and the next level needs more than working harder. Get your people, your plan, and your own time pointed the same way.

Owners running more than one venture

Each business has its own team, demands, and pace. Get clear on priorities so you stop feeling pulled in every direction.

Key leaders and managers

The people you depend on to carry your vision forward, coached to lead their teams with more confidence and less hand-holding from you.

Families planning succession

A business moving to the next generation, where roles, recognition, and the family's way of doing things all have to be worked out together.

What we work on

Five areas, shaped around you

Every session produces tools, decisions, and actions that move the business forward. We start with you, then the people around you, then the business. From there we focus where the impact is greatest right now.

You

Your own leadership effectiveness

You are the engine of the business, so we invest in you too: managing energy, priorities, and focus; building confidence in your decisions; staying clear under pressure; and thinking ahead to a business that doesn't need you in every room.

People

Managing the people around you

  • Knowing when to delegate, when to direct, and when to step back
  • The right people in the right roles, and honest conversations about performance
  • DISC to understand how each person thinks, communicates, and is motivated
  • Accountability that makes your team more self-managing over time

Communication

Communication and influence

  • Clear messages that line people up behind your vision
  • Difficult conversations and conflict, with a plan going in
  • Talking with partners, investors, lenders, and staff
  • How you show up, and how others experience you as a leader

Direction

Business building and strategy

  • A clear vision and a long-range plan
  • An honest look at strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
  • What really drives your success, and where you stand against competitors
  • Growth options and the risks that come with them

Execution

Execution and accountability

  • 90-day plans with clear milestones and owners
  • A handful of numbers you actually track
  • A simple way to make decisions and clear issues
  • Weekly habits that keep you and your team on track

My role

Four hats, depending on what you need

I'm not here to tell you what you already know. I'm here to challenge your thinking, sharpen your decisions, and hold you to them.

Coach

Helping you build the awareness, habits, and skills to lead at the level your plans demand.

Mentor

Sharing what I've seen work, and not work, with other owners facing the same challenges.

Consultant

Direct input on the strategic and operational decisions in front of you.

Educator

Practical frameworks you can use right away, and teach to your own team.

What it looks like

A family business planning its next generation

A family-owned group in the Edmonton area was preparing to hand the business to the next generation. The founder led from the heart and trusted his gut. His sons wanted clear authority, recognition for what they had built, and the business case behind big decisions. Nobody was wrong. They were driven by different things.

Using DISC and Driving Forces, coaching gave each of them a way to understand the others and gave the family a shared language for the hard conversations: who owns what, how decisions get explained, and how the family's way of doing things carries forward.

Common questions

Before you start

How often do we meet?

Most clients meet once or twice a month, for 60 to 90 minutes. The first three months are often a bit more frequent while we set the foundation. We set the rhythm in the first strategy session.

How long do I need to commit?

The minimum engagement is three months, then it's month to month. Real change takes time, and three months is enough to see it.

Is this coaching or consulting?

Both, depending on the moment. Sometimes you need questions that help you find your own answer. Sometimes you need a straight opinion from someone who has seen it before. I'll tell you which one I'm giving you.

Can you coach my managers as well as me?

Yes. Many owners start with their own coaching, then add coaching for the key leaders they depend on.

Do we meet in person?

Whichever works better for you. I meet clients in person across the Edmonton region and virtually anywhere.
